Now I'm looking for some help in product testing with fluid dynamics.

Before building a full scale product, I would like to optimise the design to produce a more efficient development of the design for further 3D modifications to blade shape.

I was thinking to try and optimise it for max speed around 6000 rpm (typical outboard motor rpm). Really I'd like to break the world water speed record and have other ideas around craft design but this is a first step.

I think this is a world first Augmented Reality (AR) Text To Speech (TTS) mobile interface. I'm been managing projects for layar in the past but have now switched to wikitude. I'm still working on this as I'd like to help blind people know what's around them. I'll keep spending my nights and overdraft on this till I have something really useful. Note the sound volume is very low but there is speech that happens when the user is viewing the object. Oh, and yes, I've also been in contact with computer vision glasses makers, waiting for video input to be added to mobiles also.

Solar Flares are getting bigger.

I've mentioned them before. Now they're getting press in reuters, wired etc.

If they're really big, which is very possible, there will be massive magnetic storms. In the past knocked out radio transmitters, electric cables etc but a very large one (expected in next few years) could also wipe out magnetic stored data.

To protect against this I've invented magnetic shield to store things like data archives so we don't go back to a period in history when we didn't have mobiles / computers e.g. 1859... but it's a little expensive... prototype about £20k needed, full room size storage would be min £250k + (Any enterprise / govs please get in contact.)

I recently changed macs so am going through the usual migration and import issues, thought I'd share my tips

Sparsebundle cannot be found on old hardrive…. Time machine won't allow you to open your old files… If you plug in your old harddrive to a new OSX then you need to view hidden files to see it (there are a few ways, one is with Terminal).. type:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE

If you have an entourage problem where the application says "this identity cannot be opened with this version of entourage" (e.g. You installed entourage to your new mac but your can't get your old email settings / identity)

Update entourage on your new mac / download the service packs / updates etc.

Then replace the new OfficePID.plist with your old one. In the Finder, select /Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist
Replace the new: Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities/Main Identity (with your old one), this should bring in all your old settings

tineye image search engine (similar solution to what i had in mind, oh well, good for them... i think it's a great idea).
Here's a concept sketch I did last year but even a few years back I had created a prototype process of matching image retrieval.. contacted potential developers, tested tons of apps.

Scam letter from Community Trade Mark Filing Service, 17 - 19 Fenwick Street, Liverpool, L2 7LS If you've also got a letter from Community Trade Mark Filing Service then ignore it or report it. It's not from the Patent Office and you don't need to pay them. (I did call the Patent Office and they have hundreds of complaints already but are not yet taking any action.)
They basically get all the Patent Office customer details and send letters to them trying to make it look like you need to pay them. If like me you want to move things on, you can report them to trading standards.

Other super geek research I was looking at: (Evolutionary Neurocontrol, Genetic algorithm, How the Genetic Algorithm Works). My aim in this space is to try to create some software that can understand meaning in Language (I need lots of dev help). There are other areas which I think if combined would produce advanced results like metamorphic code ... is code that can reprogram itself (certainly gets the imagination going).
Why is GA of interest, well, for example, a genetic algorithm developed jointly by engineers from General Electric and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute produced a high-performance jet engine turbine design that was three times better than a human-designed configuration and 50% better than a configuration designed by an expert system by successfully navigating a solution space containing more than 10³⁸⁷ possibilities. Conventional methods for designing such turbines are a central part of engineering projects that can take up to five years and cost over $2 billion; the genetic algorithm discovered this solution after two days on a typical engineering desktop workstation (Holland 1992, p.72). Well if you don't already have all your contacts on google , that's what you need to do and here are some links to help you do that.

1: Get a sync app, i suggest spanning sync, another is fruux (come google VCs just make an offer and bye them).

They cause virus alerts but 99% of the time iframes of course are used to bring information in from other sites! I've contacted avast to see when this, verging on annoying position is being taken... customers were reporting virus alerts on some site and I've just had to remove innocent iframe code!

Either avast change or i suggest to edit preferences / get another AV solution.

Personally I'm not a fan of any visas or borders.

This week a new TV channel was added for Tibet and we wanted to know if there should be a country for Tibet.

A hotel specifically catering for bird watchers is to be built in Cornwall.

Work on the £2m, 30-bedroom eco-lodge on the outskirts of Hayle is due to start within weeks after plans were approved by Penwith District Council.

The site, currently occupied by a garage and furniture shop, overlooks the estuary at Hayle which is home to 20,000 waders and seabirds.

Each bedroom will be equipped with its own telescope and binoculars as well as bird identification charts.

Landowner Mike Bows, who already runs two hotels in Cornwall, said he gave the architects a free hand in the design.

The hotel will boast wooden cladding and a gently sloping turf roof to blend in with the landscape.

Each bedroom will have balconies looking out over the estuary which will act as bird hides.

Economic boost

In a bid to help the environment, the hotel will be built using green initiatives, including low-energy climate control and lighting.

The recycling of grey water and the use of sustainable drainage systems will also reduce the lodge's environmental impact on its surroundings.

"Hayle needs a boost at the moment and this will bring jobs and tourism to the area," said Mr Bows.

As much of the south-west of England's tourism is linked with the summer months, it it hoped that the new hotel will go some way into helping the region's economy in the quieter winter months too.

Wildlife in the estuary is especially rich during the colder seasons so the hotel will remain open throughout the year.

Gavin Woodford, from GHK architects who designed the lodge, said: "This development will deliver a landmark building which will greatly add to the tourism marketing potential for the whole region.

"A priority for the Penwith local economy is to enhance the value of the tourism industry through carefully considered development that is sympathetic to the area's outstanding natural environment."

Should single religion teaching be banned?

What's the sense of teaching about a single religion?
Shouldn't religious classes teach about all religions?
It's backwards to teach a single religion and pretend that other religious beliefs do not exist.

I was lucky enough to get a great education but for me, religious classes weren't taught about the multitudes of religious beliefs through history, they were taught with the assumption that we would believe what was taught and that was about a single religion. Well for a time i adopted a single religion cause I was a nice little boy... I used to love praying. As i grew and realised that we are mostly born into religion. Then I rejected the concept because most religions claim to be the only one.

It's funny, the other week i visited literally hundreds of religious web sites from all over the world (i had to update lots of links). All preaching their own words and beliefs. All claiming to have wise wise teachers, or masters, or prophets or guides... yeah, they seem 'wise' and acclaimed to those who've been taught to follow that religion cause they for the student, their teacher may have reached the pinnacle of understanding about their religious subject matter.

If you are one of these religious students where you see your teacher and you think they are wise cause they know lots about their subject matter, well in essence that's a good thing but also give some consideration to the point that perhaps your 'wise' teacher may not perhaps be as open minded as they could and that you can choose your own way and there may still be many more things to learn about.

Teaching single religion brings small communities together but not the world.

Why are we typically taught a specific religion, i think it's wrong.
Surely it's wrong to be taught such a subjective spiritual thing as if it's fact.

If you are looking for a religion and that makes you feel good, well that's up to you. But I think then when one becomes fixed on any subject or reasons one is blind to other reasoning. In summary this is why being really really really religious can make one really close minded.

I could have used harsher words here but I'm trying not to offend people. Sometimes I'm amazed about the lack of useful teaching that we're given. For example, where I'm going on holiday, many of the locals have never even heard of the idea of evolution, yet for more educated people we accept that as obvious fact.

Religion has played a good part in history for teaching morals but i think the time has come to blend the teaching of religion as the "teaching about Religions" not specific types.

Most scientists see the "event horizon" of a black hole is the very last point at which a light signal can still escape to the external universe. The physics theories we currently have all seem to break down when trying to understand so called singularities.

Here’s my 2 pence worth. I think:
Spacetime singularities are not tiny but are also massive, I think of them as infinite. (Prefer to call them both immeasurable).

I do not accept that the speed of light is the upper most limit in our universe.

We need a new kind of physics law which allows something to be both singular and infinite at the same time.

Equations are taken to be a fundamental description of spacetime itself, I am confronting the question of how singularities can be interpreted, general relativity characterizes gravity by the curvature of spacetime but there are limits in classical theory.

We need to allow for a conflict in physics law. It would be beneficial to be open to a contradiction in terms.

Because we cannot understand something does not mean it does not exist.

To illustrate my theory, take a pencil and look at the end, it is to represent a point of singularity. Now turn the pencil so you see a line, this is to represent an infinite horizon.

I think that black holes are universal engines, roaming around at the middle of each galaxy. The mass that is sucked (seemingly inescapably inwards to the middle of the blackhole), I think is also taken out to the infinite or immeasurable situation that is the creation/boundaries of the universe.

Let’s call this idea “singular infinite interference”.
